China's imports and exports surged 22 percent year-on-year in the first 11 months this year to reach 35.39 trillion yuan ($5.55 trillion), exceeding the level of trade volume seen last year (32.16 trillion yuan) thanks to better than expected performance in November, data from China Customs said on Tuesday.Chinese experts said the jump showed that China’s economy has recovered to the level before the pandemic, and it is expected that the high growth of China's foreign trade will be maintained through the second half of 2022.In US dollar terms, China's total import and export value in the first 11 months of this year reached $5.47 trillion, an increase of 31.3 percent compared with the same period last year, the data from the customs said.Among them, exports were worth $3.03 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 31.1 percent, while imports reached $2.44 trillion, a 31.4 percent increase year-on-year.China's imports and exports to major trading partners such as ASEAN, the EU and the US all witnessed a significant increase in the first 11 months of 2021.
